EDO BERGER: THE GLOBETROTTER OF DUTCH COMEDY

If you’re looking for an energetic, dynamic comedian who is just as comfortable on international stages as he is in the Netherlands, then Edo Berger is your man. This towering figure has not only performed in Dutch theaters and clubs but is also one of the most sought-after Dutch comedians abroad, with performances ranging from Moscow to Tokyo.

From Cabaret to Comedy and Radio
Edo’s versatility is evident from his impressive career. He started with the cabaret group Schering en Inslag, reaching the finals of both the Groninger Student Cabaret Festival and the Leiden Cabaret Festival. As a solo artist, he won awards at the Rabo Camuz Kleinkunst Festival and the Griffioen Zuidplein Cabaret Festival. Since 2015, he has also been a familiar voice on the radio; along with Wouter Monden and Mirthe Bron, he provides a musical news item on the Q-Music morning show, which was nominated for the Zilveren Reissmicrofoon in 2016.

More than just a comedian
But Edo is more than just a comedian and radio host. He has worked as an editor and sidekick for 3FM and even spent time in a children’s home in Nepal, where he made video logs and reports. In 2013, he produced the documentary ‘Dictator of Comedy’ with Jeroen Pater, offering an in-depth look at a legendary comedy impresario. He was also active as an educational worker at Theater DEGASTEN, a multicultural youth theater company in Amsterdam-West
